If you are short on time and have a foam roller handy, shoulder foam rolling exercise is a great approach to target your shoulder muscles in one motion.
Do exercise both sides of your body equally.

HGC FITNESS FOCUS: INTERMEDIATE CORE EXERCISES
The “core” carries one of the secrets to improving performance on the golf course. Everyone is searching for the best means to work his or her abdominals. But for a golfer, the core is more vital than the craving for a hard six-pack. Intermediate core exercises require basic equipments (TRX suspension, stability ball, etc.) to carry out the intermediate core exercises.
Exercise 1 – THE TRX CRUNCH
The TRX crunch is a calisthenics and alternative exercise that primarily targets the abs and to a lesser degree also targets the shoulders and quads. The only TRX crunch equipment that you really need is the TRX suspension. Target muscles are Abs, Quads, Core Stabilization and Strength. The duration for the exercise must be 20 seconds to 1 minute. Do ensure you are breathing continuously.
Exercise 2 – STABILITY BALL ROLL-OUT
Kneel in front of a stability ball with your knees hip-width apart, then place your forearms on the ball, hands in loose fists. Keeping your back flat, brace your core and slowly roll the ball away from you by straightening your arms; extend as far as you can without allowing your hips to drop. The target muscle areas are abdominal and lower back. Exercise for a minute and focus on breathing.
Exercise 3 – SIDE PLANK WITH CABLE ROW
Unlike the use of cable machine for this type of side plank exercise, we can use a pillar or a sturdy reference point where we can tie the rope and perform the exercise. Target muscle areas for this exercise are Mid-back muscles, Obliques, and Core Stabilization. Perform 12 to 15 reps for each side of your body.
Exercise 4 – ELEVATED LOOP BRIDGE
It’s suggested that you use a yoga mat for this exercise. Don’t hurt yourself by doing the bridge on a hard surface. As you lie down, make sure to keep your knees bent and hip distance apart. The soles of your feet planted firmly on the floor. Walk your heels back as close to your buttocks as possible. You’ll need to use the strength of your feet and your glutes to help you lift up. Perform the exercise for 15 to 20 reps and make sure you hold position no. 2 for 10 seconds max. Target muscle areas are glutes and lower back, and thighs.
Hip Flexibility Exercise- Kneeling Lunge
You may need some trial and error to find the perfect position for this stretch.
The best front foot positioning happens when your shin is upright when you lean forward, rather than being angled down or back.
Keep your hips square and your upper body tall, and you’ll be in the right position. Don’t be afraid to adjust the back leg positioning to get the most out of the stretch for you.
Points to keep in mind while doing the stretch-
Take deep breaths while stretching for 10-30 seconds for each leg.
One of the most important things to know about stretching in general is that most of the gains you achieve are from simply training the muscles to better tolerate the stretched positions.
With practice you are working on convincing your body that nothing bad is going to happen in new stretched positions. That’s why slow, easy and controlled is better.

HGC FITNESS FOCUS: BASIC CORE EXERCISES
A golfer’s body must be stable, strong, and flexible. In order to achieve these core fitness goals, one needs to focus on efficient golf training sessions. For reasons known, Golf is a game which relies on body rotation to muster power from the ground via the core to the club and finally the golf ball. Core muscle workouts help in increasing lower back stability, hip and upper back mobility, and body balancing abilities.
Exercise 1 – BASIC PLANK
For a well-planned core strengthening workout schedule, you must include some kind of plank positional holds to complement your crunches and other abdominal work. The target area for Basic Plank exercise is the Abdomen Region. One must ensure continuous breathing and the duration of exercise should be 20 seconds to 1 minute. And remember, do not arch your lower back.
Exercise 2 – SIDE PLANK
Side plank help keep lower back in check and stable during a game of golf. Golf requires movement of hips or back. Target muscles for side planks are obliques, abdominal, and lower back. Do remember to repeat the exercise for both sides of the body and do it for 20 seconds to 1 minute.
Exercise 3 – SUPERMAN PLANK
This is a relatively difficult core exercise which involves Lower back, Abdominals, and Glutes. While maintaining the plank, extend one arm and perform a leg raise with the opposite leg at the same time. Repeat the entire loop of exercise for 20 seconds to 1 minute. Target Area is the Lower Back Region, Abdominals, Glutes and duration is 20 seconds to 1 minute
