Chalk line drill
Chalk line drill- If I had to choose one putting drill to use for the rest of my life, the chalk line drill would be it. It is simple, effective, and works for everyone no matter what style of putting you recommend. All you need is a tee and a chalk line, which you can get at your local hardware store.
Step 1 – Find a straight 6-8 foot putt and position the tee in the ground right in front of the hole with the string connected to it.
Step 2 – Walk out 6-8 feet and snap the chalk line 2 or 3 times just to make sure you get a line you can see.
Step 3 – Put the ball directly on the line, as seen in the pictures, and start putting. You will immediately know what you are doing wrong if you miss the putt, based on what side of the line the ball roles on.
Do this drill every time you go to the golf course for 10 minutes and you will definitely see a big improvement in your putting.

HGC Fitness Friday: Upper Body Rotation for Putting
Upper Body Rotation is a great exercise for putting which helps in keeping the upper and lower body separate and to create a strong base when putting.
Step 1- Attach a resistance waist band, extending from a wall/stable pole, to your waist. You should feel as if you are being pulled by the band.
Step 2- Attach a regular resistant band to the same pole, at the level at which you hold your putter.
Step 3- take your putting stance and rotate your upper body through as if you are making a putting stroke. Do this 15 times on each side to keep the body balanced.
Remember- keep your lower body stable while doing the drill.

Putting makes or breaks your golf score; here’s a simple drill on how to get your putter face square at impact to get good, solid putts.
THE GATE DRILL –
Step 1- Find a flat spot on the green and place two tees at a distance of 5 inches (or just far enough for your putter head to make it through), and perpendicular to the line of the putt.
Step 2- Place the ball a little ahead of the tees and take your set up.
Step 3- Make your stroke and focus on making the 3 foot putt without touching the tees.
The gate forms a visual cue that encourages you to square your putter at impact. This will result in putts that are more on your intended line with less tendency to push or pull your putts.
Now go ahead and make some money off your friends, because you always “drive for show and putt for dough!”
